May - July Reverend Andy's sabbatical
Rev Andy is on a sabbatical from May-July having been in the Church of England for 25 years! During this period he is going to give more time to his chaplaincy role at Worcester Warriors Rugby Club and he also hopes to put together a booklet called " Too many questions, not enough answers-or are there?" His wife, Charm, who is a MacMillan nurse, has asked him to come up with something to give to cancer patients and the terminally ill. He would value your prayers.
Letter for July (Phil Williams).
Dear All,
Pastor Daniel returned to Portugal on Monday at the end of his three week visit. In such a short time he made an enormous impression with everyone but especially our young people. He spoke very openly about the need for the teenagers to honour their parents, leaders and friends and how this was one of the challenges they as young people are facing before God at this time in their lives. There is much to learn for all of us in the area of respect for one another and the authority of the leadership of the church..
Thank you so much for those who are giving so generously to the work of the Church in bringing the young people from the orphanage in Setubal to join us at our Summer camp. Giving is something that God has been speaking to us as a church about for long time and it is so heartening to see people step out in faith with their finances. God promises in his word that as we honour him with our tithes and offerings He will “open the storehouse” and release
many blessings. I know many of us at Christ Church believe this.
You will probably read this the morning after Dotty’s 90th birthday party! It is wonderful that we can celebrate this great achievement as a church family. She has been part of Christ Church longer than I have and has always
had a great sense of fun and concern for everyone in the church.
Please take every opportunity to promote the Holiday Club which runs every morning during the first week of the school holiday – leaflets are
available in the foyer.
Please remain prayerful to the work of the church as we seek to proclaim the love and truth of the Gospel in various ways in the coming months.
Many Blessings, Phil on behalf of the Council
