Dear Jacqui Smith,
I find it incredible that Labour has used taxpayers'
money to stay popular in its own constituencies
- Of the 105 hospitals threatened with closure only 18 are in
Labour areas.
- Of the 123 constituencies in England which will benefit from
the Hospital Building Programme 83 are in Labour areas.
- In the 25 worst-hit constituencies 1,122 post offices have been
or will be closed but only 39 are in Labour areas.
- Railway stations are being axed in 23 constituencies but only 3
in Labour areas.
- National Lottery grants to constituencies represented by
members of the Cabinet are nearly double those to seats held by the Shadow
Cabinet.
- Police forces in Labour areas top the funding league.
This unfairness and lack of integrity is at the heart of this
government and will be its downfall.
Yours sincerely,
Rev Andy Kelso.

20/12/2006 Response from Richard Timney:
Jacqui has asked me to thank you for your e mail and
to say that she notes your concerns. Without more information about what you
mean by your statement and further information about the statistics you are
quoting she is unable to respond in detail. She remains proud of the progress
British public services have made under a Labour government since 1997 a list
is set out below setting out some but not all of the improvements. The figures
are not disputed - you can imagine the uproar there would be if they were
wrong. You may not want to recognise the progress that has been made - in
particular in tackling poverty for children and pensioners but Jacqui is happy
to be judged on that record.
SINCE 1997
Economy
- 2.5 million more people in work - unemployment at its lowest
since the 70s and inflation amongst lowest in EU
- Nearly 1.7 million people helped into work by the New Deal
- Introduced the National Minimum Wage - now £5.35
Health
- Over 85,000 more nurses, over 32,000 more doctors
- 157 new hospitals built or on the way
- 662,000 more operations a year compared to 1997. Heart
operations up 93%
- Lowest waiting list since records began in 1988, down
381,000 since March 1997.
- Virtually nobody waiting over 6 months, compared to 284,000
waiting in 1997
Crime
- All crime down 35% overall; burglary down 53%; car crime down
46%; and violent crime down 34%
- Record police numbers, up by over 14,000 since 1997
Education
- 36,400 more teachers and over 287,000 more school support
staff
- Best ever primary, GCSE and A level results
- Doubling per pupil spend
Tory record
- 4 million children in poverty
- 3 million pensioners in poverty
- 3 million on the dole
- Unemployment doubled
- Crime doubled
- Waiting lists rose
- Teacher numbers fell
- Interest rates hit 15 per cent
Rev Kelso's Response, 20/12/2006:
I did not ask for a list of her opinions of how
wonderful this Labour government has been but an answer to the facts that I
submitted about how Labour has used millions of taxpayers' monies to look after
its own constituencies at the expense of others. My statement was quite clear as
were my statistics. Strange that she finds this difficult to understand.
Rev Andy Kelso
Reply from Richard Timney, 21/12/2006:
Jacqui has asked me to say that its efforts to tackle
poverty and the related inequalities in health and crime have of course meant
that areas of deprivation have benefited from investment. Whilst Labour MP
represent areas all over the Country many are inner city areas decimated by
Conservative decisions over decades. The relationship between Labour
representation and areas of deprivation is hardly surprising given the Tory
record. That the Labour government has delivered such enormous improvements in
the fight against poverty and health and crime statistics in areas of
deprivation is something Jacqui would have thought you would have welcomed.
Happy Christmas
Richard Timney for Jacqui Smith MP
Rev Kelso's Response, 21/12/2006:
After years in government Labour cannot still be
blaming the Conservatives.Your comments suggest that Labour is funding its own
deprived areas at the expense of everything else and is doing a wonderful
job.The truth is that the majority of people in the nation are fed up with this
government's inability to tackle key issues such as Immigration, Crime, the
NHS, Education, Benefit Fraud. People are appalled that MPs' keep boosting
their pensions whilst other people find their pensions dwindling. People are
fed up with the sleaze, the hypocrisy and the sound-bites with no substance at
the heart of this government. Why can't somebody put their hand up and admit
they've made a mess of things and admit that the government is failing the
people? Then we might start taking politicians seriously.
Happy Christmas to you as well.

I would like to respond to Nigel Farndale's
belittling comments about me in the Sunday Telegraph (Nov.26th). He stated that
my sole argument was about discrimination against Christians and that this was
"the last resort of the truly impotent".
With regard to Nadia Eweida and her desire to wear
her cross there is obvious discrimination. BA have altered their dress code
rules to accommodate Muslims and Sikhs but not Christians. I pointed out that
this lady's cross is not a piece of jewellery but a vital mark of her faith.
She comes from an Arab background and knows about the cost of standing up for
Christ. Her cross is a symbol that she is not ashamed to declare her faith
publicly.
In the light of this I stated that there is a growing
persecution against Bible-believing Christians in this country and that
Christians should stand up and be counted and use whatever democratic means are
available to voice their concerns .I cannot see how such remarks are seen as
"impotent!".
Mr Farndale might like to know that I spent the next
three days being interviewed on TV and radio, where I expressed that because we
had largely turned our back on God and His ways we had created a vacuum which
others, like militant Islam, were trying to fill. I stated that this issue over
BA and the cross had opened up a debate about what kind of country did we want
to live in and that we were in danger of throwing away our Christian heritage.
Marching as to war? Well, I'm certainly trying to
sound the alarm!

What have we come to when under gay rights laws soon
to be on the statute book a vicar could be sued for refusing to bless same-sex
civil partnerships?
Well I for one refuse to be at the mercy of these
politically correct forces and I will most certainly refuse to bless such
relationships. Gay people are welcome to attend the church but they will find,
along with anyone who is living a lifestyle contrary to God's Word, a growing
conviction to honour God or to leave the church.
Marriage between a man and a woman is God's will and
it is sacred. Same-sex unions are contrary to God's will and therefore cannot
possibly receive His blessing. To do so is to dishonour God and to deceive
people that such a relationship is acceptable to Him.
I am well aware that such views will be seen by many
as unloving, narrow-minded, bigoted and homophobic. But it's a Truth issue. If
you believe as I do that anything that dishonours God comes under His
judgement, then if you truly love people you will want to warn them and not
appease them.

British Airways' refusal to allow an employee to wear
her cross openly, underlines the fact that there is discrimination against the
Christian faith in this country. Now we find that Exeter University's Christian
Union has lost its status as a society because you have to be a Christian to be
on the leadership and this apparently infringes other people's rights. How
ludicrous! If you were to join a Deep Sea diving club you would hope that those
in charge knew something about diving!
But yet again it's this discrimination against
Christians that is concerning.

Whilst so many people are going to have to live on
reduced pensions our greedy MPs' are feathering their own nests at the
taxpayers' expense. This is criminal. So an MP who has only been in parliament
for eight years will receive more than a nurse who has worked all their life.
Is it any wonder that people despise politicians and despair at the state of
the country? We so desperately need people of integrity with a servant heart in
government if this nation is to survive. But where are they?

The recent publicity given to the wearing of crosses
and veils underlines a grave concern for our country. In an ideal world all
people and all religions ought to be able to coexist peacefully. That sadly is
not so with Islam. The slightest criticism leads to violent outbursts as we
have seen. The problem is that this nation has turned its back on its
Judeo-Christian roots and values and is now at the mercy of Islam's extremist
factions. Nearly 50 per cent of Muslims want to live here under sharia law and
impose this on the nation.
The proposal to build the largest mosque in Europe in
East London and the decision to demolish the Kingsway Christian Centre just a
mile away, the largest church in Europe, highlights the danger. Unless Church
and political leaders uphold and speak out strongly for our Christian heritage
we are in serious danger of being taken over. Let the cross be seen and worn
for it speaks of freedom.

As a vicar in the Church of England I am ashamed that
the Archbishop of Canterbury cannot stand up for a Christian who has been sent

The recent ruling upholding the ban on a classroom

discrimination.

Sir,
In a nation and a world that has increasingly lost
its way the Church is called to be salt and light. Tragically the Church of
England has lost that call and has embraced political correctness. We are asked
not to call God "Father" or Jesus "Lord" and now the Church blesses sin in
wanting to give cohabiting couples the same rights as married couples. This
follows on the back of allowing clergy to engage in same-sex civil
partnerships.
So the Church, like the State, undermines biblical
marriage which is the union of a man and a woman, and endorses what the Bible
calls sin. Has all of this "enlightenment" led to a better society? No! Just to
more moral chaos, family breakdowns and rising crime.
When we turn our backs on God and His ways for us
then we walk into the darkness. When the Church leaders do this it is
unforgivable. Thankfully Jesus is still the Light of the World.

As a vicar in the Church of England I am appalled at
the latest political correctness coming from its leaders. To tell churchgoers
not to refer to God as He or Lord because it will lead to domestic abuse is
laughable. This is just pandering to feminist and liberal agendas. No wonder so
many people are put off the Church.
The Bible makes it quite clear that God is our Father
who has revealed Himself fully in Jesus Christ. He gives us the model of
fatherhood and manhood which if followed even slightly would make the world a
much better place. Not to refer to Him as Lord is heresy. Church leaders also
state that it is wrong to use the old form of marriage vows where the bride
promises to obey. What they fail to point out is that she only says that
because the groom promises to worship her, meaning put her first.
These latest guidelines are false, un-biblical and
half-baked: a sad reflection of much of the Church of England.

Gordon Brown's promises of a new era for this nation
are empty sound bites. Our politicians have failed us. Our Church leaders have
failed us too for not calling this nation back to its Judaeo-Christian
heritage. This is being destroyed and so our foundations are crumbling. Our
Christian heritage is disappearing from our laws and being replaced by secular
humanism with its political correctness and its resulting chaos.
If we want to see morality restored, crime reduced
and integrity to make right decisions for this country amongst our politicians,
then we need to turn back to God in repentance, embrace and restore the Ten
Commandments as the foundation of our lives, affirm family life and its values,
and elect leaders who will be models of godliness, truthfulness, and
courage.

I am writing about the charges against Stephen Green for handing
out leaflets expressing the Bible's views on homosexuality. I find it
incredible that this is called a crime whilst the Gay Police Federation get
away with a vile and offensive poster aimed at Christians. Such double
standards are appalling. What a waste of taxpayers money to bring this charge
against Mr. Green for merely pointing out what the Bible states. Is it now a
crime to believe the Bible which has been the bedrock of society for so long?
If so, then realise that you are putting Almighty God on trial which is utterly
blasphemous, and that is a crime.

What will it take to open the eyes of our secular and
religious leaders to the true nature of Islam? Now the Pope is hated by Muslim
extremists for daring to quote from a 14th century Emperor that Mohammed spread
his religion through violence. But any student of history will find out that
this is exactly what happened. The heart of Islam IS violent. It calls people
to submit. As soon as there is any criticism of it there is a uproar because
that is the spirit behind it.
Now we have a Muslim extremist, Anjem Choudary,
brazenly standing outside Westminster Cathedral calling for the Pope to be
executed, with his followers waving placards intent on offending Christians
with such slogans as " Jesus is the slave of Allah." The police stated that
there were no complaints. Well I'm complaining! As a Bible believing Christian

Dear Archbishop,
Whilst it may be very purposeful that you have been
fasting and praying for the Middle East, it is totally cancelled out in the
eyes of the nation when they read that Bishopthorpe Palace is to be
refurbished, costing millions.
As the Church of England struggles with finances, as
clergy face working longer and parishioners are asked to contribute more to the
Diocesan quota, the Church of England, in its wisdom, decides to spend millions
on your Palace.
Can't you see how the sceptical non-Christian
responds to this? It does great disservice to the Gospel and makes the Church a
mockery.
God is not only concerned about issues in the Middle
East but also about hypocrisy and injustice within the Church of England, which
this issue highlights.
If Archbishops and Bishops lived in normal houses and
the Church sold off its palaces, then the Church would be taken more seriously,
its clergy looked after properly, and the mission of the Church to reach people
with the Gospel would have more credibility.

So it takes Archbishop Peter Akinola, the leading
cleric in Africa, to have to come to London to warn the Church about the danger
of Islam! He listed many examples in the UK where Muslims have encroached upon
our society, demanding and getting their way, whilst promoting their religion
as the last and final faith for the world. He stated that " Muslims came as
guests, but are now your landlords. They have many methods but one agenda,
world domination." He pointed out that Muslims never shift their ground whilst
Christians do, trying to be loving and accommodating. He then showed how the
tactic of imposing their demands has been used by Muslims in North Africa, and
was now being implemented in Nigeria, Kenya, and Tanzania. Now it is happening
in the UK.
And the Church's response? Inter-Faith dialogue. This
is a joke because Muslims believe Christianity to be weak and irrelevant. The
day after the Archbishop's visit over twenty British Muslims were arrested here
with the intention of blowing up planes. When will Church leaders and political
leaders wake up?

Dear Gordon Brown,
Why can't the Labour party learn from Australia?
John Howard is a leader with principles and the people respect him. He has cut
taxes, restructured labour markets and presided over an economy that's booming.
He has taken uncompromising stands on anti-terrorism and Muslim integration. He
has introduced tough immigration laws and is tough on crime. In education he
has stated that pupils should have an understanding of British and European
history and the influence of Christianity on Western civilisation.
Mr. Howard has stood up to political correctness,
ultra feminism, minority rights, victim culture and other ultra-leftisms and
ideologies. He is also ruthless of welfare cheats and scroungers and affirms
family values.
Mr. Howard is popular. Our politicians are not,
because they're full of hypocrisy, double standards, sound-bites and totally
out of touch with the real mood of the people.
Mr. Howard loves his country and seeks to defend it
from anything or anyone who attempts to undermine it.
And this is the kind of leader this nation needs

the opportunity to be that person. It just takes guts.

So political correctness rules again!
The InnerChange course which was having a positive effect on
difficult prisoners at Dartmoor jail and has proved to be a great success in
the USA is to be scrapped. And the reason? It assumes that the root of
offending is in individual sin and it promotes the uniqueness of heterosexual
marriage. Such beliefs are now seen as discriminatory. What a load of rubbish!
Ever since Adam and Eve disobeyed God sin has been at the heart of mankind.
It's acknowledging this in your own life that can start the road to true

Dear Andy Simpson,
So The Da Vinci Code film is going to rattle the Church, according
to A.N. Wilson in his Saturday essay in the Mail. He asks the question as to
how many bishops and priests in the Church still believe that Jesus was God in
human flesh.
Well I, for one, do believe this, and believe that Jesus is
mankind's only hope, because He and He alone is the Saviour of the world.
The Da Vinci Code is heresy based on lies. Yet again the person of
Jesus is undermined and most of the Church will be silent. Try making a film
about Mohammed like this and hear the uproar.
A.N. Wilson states that Christians cannot prove Jesus was true God
and true man, nor prove that He rose from the dead. It is all a matter of faith
according to him.
This is absolute rubbish! If anyone bothers to look into the facts
there is more than enough evidence to show that Jesus was who He says He was,
and that He did indeed rise from the dead.
Christianity is a faith based on solid facts rooted in history.
The reason that people scoff at the Bible and seek to belittle Jesus is the
fact that our human nature is sinful and we do not want to be accountable to
God.
The tragedy is that Jesus alone offers us the freedom we really
want.

Dear Andy Simpson,
Your article on "Meet your ancestor" (Daily Mail April 6th) yet
again shows the bias towards evolution in the media. This supposed missing link
of a cross between a fish and a crocodile is not proof at all.
All that has actually been found is an example of a lobe-finned
fish, like the coelacanth, that has bones similar in position to those seen in
the arm and wrist of land-walking creatures, except these structures support
fins with rays in them, not digits like fingers and toes, and as such they are
not connected to the axial skeleton.
Creationists are mocked without being given a fair hearing, whilst
evolution is constantly presented to us as fact, which it is not.

Dear Andy Simpson,
So the Archbishop of Canterbury and the Daily Mail's Science
Editor know better than Jesus Christ! How supposedly intelligent men can so
easily dismiss Creationism without looking at the facts beggars belief. Jesus
Himself believed in Adam and Eve, that their creation was a real historical
event. Mark 10 vs. 6-9. It was Charles Darwin himself who said that his theory
of evolution was dependent on transitional life forms. In spite of millions
spent on research, no transitional life form has been found.
The human eye gives the lie to evolution as Darwin himself agreed
with its amazing complexity. So do blood platelets, which promote the clotting
process. To form a blood clot there must be twelve specific individual chemical
reactions in our blood. If evolution were true, and if this twelve step process
didn't happen in the first generation, then no creatures would have survived!
Each creature brings forth after its own kind. That's not theory.
That's fact. Ever seen a dat or a cog? (part dog, part cat). Why then should we
believe that mankind came from another species?
Evolution is a pagan religion masquerading as science, which gives
mankind the ability to dispense with God and any accountability to Him.

Dear Archbishop,
How as the head of the Church of England you can be
so dismissive of Creationism without looking at the facts is astonishing! I
enclose notes of two recent talks I gave on this subject and ask that you might
look at them.
The Evolution/Creationism debate is, I agree, about
Truth. But Truth is based on facts and your dismissive comments on Creationism
show that you have not seriously looked into this issue.
If you believe in Evolution then you must believe
that there was death, disease and decay before the appearance of man. But the
Bible makes it quite clear that it was Adam and Eve's rebellion against God
that brought death, disease and decay into the world. This is foundational to
the Gospel, which is why Genesis is so attacked.

Dear Channel 4,
I am writing about the programme "Dispatches" that was on Channel
4 last night, March 6th. Your presenter Rod Liddle was highly critical of
Evangelical Christians. Let him try making a programme like that attacking
Muslims.
He was especially sarcastic and condescending about those
Christians who think homosexuality is a sin, believe in creationism, have a
belief in the Bible, and think sex outside of marriage is wrong.
Well I am one such person and I take exception to his comments.
Please pass on these notes on the Creation/Evolution debate to Mr. Liddle and
ask him to contact me or e-mail me if he has the courage to do so.
I am fed up with Christianity being constantly attacked. I have
been a Vicar in the Church of England for over twenty years. I believe that
people need to know the saving love of Christ, that He and He alone can forgive
sins and open up a relationship with the God who created us. I believe we are
called to love sinners but call sin, sin. I believe in marriage between a man
and a woman only. I believe in the Bible absolutely and I proclaim its truth
week in and week out. I believe in a mighty Creator God who revealed Himself
fully in Jesus Christ, and yes I believe Creationism is true and Evolution is a
lie. It's because your Mr. Liddle has no idea of God that he is so quick to
belittle ideas about Him.
What your presenter is doing by seeking to pour scorn on Christian
beliefs is to allow Islam the opportunity to replace Christianity in this land.
But Christianity is morally most opposite to Islam and as an
evangelising religion is the most able to take on Islam in a peaceful
ideological struggle.
Your presenter seemed to find comfort in a rural Anglican church
where there was no cutting edge. That's not Biblical Christianity. Jesus Christ
gave His life for our sins and expected His followers to proclaim Him as THE
TRUTH and to stand upon that truth however unpopular it may be.
That's what I'm doing!

Dear Andy Simpson,
Iftekhar Ahmad Kashmirl's letter (Mail Feb.27th) commending the
freedom Britain offers was excellent. Unfortunately his understanding of
Mohammad and the true nature of Islam were incorrect. Far from showing
compassion and kindness towards non-Muslims, Mohammad systematically killed
them, enslaved them or levied crippling taxes on them. Violence is not
prohibited by Islam but endorsed in verse after verse of the Koran:
"Make war on the infidels until idolatry shall
cease and God's religion shall reign supreme." Sura 8: 40
The Koran claims it's God's purpose to "seek out the enemy
relentlessly" Sura 4: 104
The fact is that one out of every 55 verses in the Koran is a war
verse intended to arouse Muslims to compel the conversion of non-Muslims to
Islam, by violence if necessary.
There is a book now on sale called "The Noble Koran: a new
rendering of its meaning in English". It calls for the killing of Jews and
Christians and sets out a strategy. So far the authorities have done nothing
about it.
We all value our democracy but let's be clear where the real

violent reaction to cartoons of Mohammed?
What is it about the Koran that Al-Qaeda and other militant
Muslims think authorises terrorism and violence? Does the Koran support their
radicalism or is it a book of peace as many claim?
Fact! One out of every 55 verses in the Koran is a war verse
intended to arouse Muslims to compel the conversion of non-Muslims to Islam, by
violence if necessary. Failing their conversion Mohammed ordered that
non-Muslims be killed or enslaved or, if Islam is in political control, heavily
taxed.
Fact! There is not one true democracy in the Muslim world and,
unless we wake up, Islam will take away our democracy too.

Dear Andy Simpson,
The European Union poses the greatest threat to our democracy, our
freedom and our privacy. England has lost control of its farming, courts,
fishing, legislation and citizenship. If Mr. Blair gets his way we will lose
our currency, our right to set our own interest rates, our right to a
democratically elected government, our identity as an independent nation and
our right to freedom of speech. We are being buried under an avalanche of laws
from the bureaucrats of Brussels and as a result small English businesses are
being forced into bankruptcy.
None of the people in the EU who have the real power (not the
M.E.P's) have been elected. It's unconstitutional, flawed and corrupt.
Millions of people have fallen for the lie that outside of the EU
we will not thrive. This is a lie! Look at Switzerland. The fact is that had we
not been members of the EU England would by now have gained a surplus of cash
that could pay off every householder's mortgage. Future savings would be enough
to abolish the tax on petrol.
If the EU gets its way England will cease to exist within a few
years and we will become a fascist region in Euroland. Beware!
Yours truly,
Rev. Andy Kelso Vicar - Christ Church,

Dear Andy Simpson,
So a brave Muslim leader shames the church! Sir Iqbal Sacranie's
comments, that homosexuality, along with civil partnerships for gay and lesbian
couples, is wrong, are what Church leaders ought to have been voicing but do
not.
Such comments are underlining Biblical truth. It's not about being
homophobic or unloving. On the contrary, it's about stating God's concern for
people's welfare now and for all eternity.
At the heart of it is a sin issue, along with adultery, sexual
immorality, lying, thieving, hatred etc. etc. And the only answer to our sin is
to repent and to open our hearts to Jesus as our Saviour.
We once prided ourselves in this country on freedom of speech. To
deny this is a denial of democracy and human rights. We are truly becoming a
fascist state!
Yours sincerely,
Rev. Andy Kelso, Christ Church, Matchborough
